My current research focuses on evaluating neuromodulatory interventions, such as tDCS and neurofeedback, and their underlying neural mechanisms, for the recovery of language and cognitive functions after stroke. With over 10 years of clinical research experience in various patient populations using neuroimaging methodologies, I have led projects both in academia and industry related to identifying biomarkers to enhance diagnosis in the neurological and brain-injured populations, including Parkinson’s disease, mild traumatic brain injury, and disorders of consciousness. Considering the heterogeneity of brain damage and the interconnected nature of our nervous system, much of my work involves studying changes in brain connectivity on a network level following loss and recovery of function. In addition, I serve as the chief science officer in a precision medicine startup that leverages genetic data to inform health and wellness.
