Dr. Trisha Kesar is an Associate Professor at the Department of Rehab Medicine, Division of Physical Therapy at Emory University. She received her PhD in Biomechanics and Movement Science from University of Delaware in 2009. After postdoctoral training at University of Delaware and a visiting post-doc at University of Maryland Baltimore, she joined the Division of Physical Therapy at Emory University in 2012. She is the Director of the Motion Analysis Laboratory at Emory Rehabilitation Hospital, and training faculty within the Neuroscience graduate program. Dr. Kesar has published over 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts on stroke gait biomechanics, gait training, functional electrical stimulation, biofeedback, and neuroplasticity processes underlying gait retraining. She is also involved in teaching (Neuroscience course instructor) within the Doctor of Physical Therapy program (DPT) at Emory, one of the top-ranked PT programs in the nation. She is the principal investigator of 2 ongoing research grants funded by the NIH. Dr. Kesar has been a research mentor for several undergraduate and graduate students during her tenure at Emory, and is involved with mentoring within the Neuroscience PhD program at Emory as well as the Applied Physiology DPT-PhD dual degree program at Georgia institute of Technology.
