I have been a licensed occupational therapist for 33 years and have worked in a variety of practice settings and patient populations including acute care hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and out-patient clinics. I have worked with individuals with traumatic injuries as well as neurodegenerative disorders, and orthopedic issues. I have also worked in a low income public school system. My clinical experiences are with individuals across the lifespan, from preschool to geriatrics and with individuals from diverse backgrounds. My focus in based on newer neurodevelopmental models of motor learning and motor control. In addition to my clinical background, I have been in higher education for 17 years and my areas of teaching and scholarship include adults and children with neurologic deficits, geriatrics and the development of experiential clinical experiences for OT students with low-income and marginalized population, including refugees. I am currently in a post-professional occupational therapy doctoral program at Boston University.
