Senior Occupational Therapist
MD Anderson Cancer Center West Houston HAL
Houston, Texas
Camiella Esaklul completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at The University of Houston and then went on to complete her Masters in Occupational Therapy at Texas Woman's University in Houston Texas. Upon graduating she accepted a position at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Main Campus where she worked as an inpatient Occupational Therapist. During her time as an inpatient therapist she worked with a variety of different diagnoses and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to provide quality patient care. In 2014 Camiella made a transition from the inpatient setting to the outpatient setting moving from MD Anderson Main Campus to MD Anderson West Houston (Houston Area Location). With this move she had the opportunity to gain experience with other diagnoses specifically breast cancer patients. Given that breast cancer patients often times deal with lymphedema post lymph node biopsy or dissection Camiella obtained a specialty certification as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist to better serve this patient population.
