A native of Houston, Dr. Castilan obtained his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Houston in 2012. He then would later complete his Doctor of Physical Therapy, DPT, from Texas Woman’s University in 2015. During this time, he completed his last clinical internship at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Due to his newly found interest and passion in Oncology, he accepted a position offered after completing his clinical internship.
Since 2015, he has now become a senior Physical Therapist and the primary lead therapist within the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. During this time, he has had the opportunity to work with varying oncology populations, which primarily includes Neurology, Sarcoma, Breast and Melanoma. He also obtained his Certified Lymphedema Therapist, CLT, license in early 2019. His research interest includes lymphedema management, fall prevention, outcome measures and safety within the department. He has and is also currently working in other various settings, throughout the Houston area, which includes Houston Methodist Hospital and Skilled Nursing facilities, primarily focusing on Orthopedic and Neuro Rehabilitation.
