Emily Evans is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research at Brown University’s School of Public Health. Her current work focuses on examining the impact of injury characteristics, clinical care, and contextual factors on functional trajectories of older adults with traumatic brain injury (TBI) to inform care and discharge planning and maximize quality of life and independence. Additional research interests include examining how the type and timing of rehabilitation services influence early functional recovery and longitudinal trajectories in patients with TBI, and the development and adoption of standardized patient reported outcome assessment tools in both clinical practice and observational research in order to improve understanding of the long-term consequences of TBI on people across the lifespan.
