This presentation will discuss outcomes of a 12-month pilot study investigating a regenerative treatment for chronic shoulder pain caused by rotator cuff disease in wheelchair users with spinal cord injury. Treatment with micro-fragmented adipose tissue, injected into degenerated shoulder structures under ultrasound guidance, led to decreases in shoulder pain in most participants with no recorded adverse events. These findings support the need for a randomized, control trial, which the authors recently received funding to conduct.
