This symposium will be presented by a group of investigators who have addressed complexity and heterogeneity found in studies of rehabilitation patient populations both in outcomes and in attempts to characterize these disorders or injury groups. Presenters' discussions will acquaint attendees with variables that investigators can easily overlook that have stymied advancement of rehabilitation science and research.
Understand how oversimplification of motor impairment may obscure the relationship between motor impairment and basic mobility
Understand and discuss how the complexity and heterogeneity of rehabilitation patient populations, such as TBI, could be better accounted for by stratification of data by additional variables.
