The concept that describes splitting time and energy between work and other important aspects of life has been called work-life balance. Work-life balance can seem impossible. Rehabilitation professionals who are working extended hours often have difficulty making time for other important aspects of life. However, tackling this issue from a work-life perspective is problematic. This interactive symposium will focus on the balancing act most of us are trying to achieve including: a review of signs and symptoms of imbalance; self-assessment of harmony and disharmony; a reflection of whether time spent in activities echoes one’s values and is aligned with one’s goals; and a review of strategies for reframing life and restoring balance.
