The purpose of this symposium is to provide an overview of our acute care center's inpatient cancer program. Highlight the significance of cancer rehabilitation across the continuum, different in clinical pathways for cancer and review cancer-specific assessments. Outcomes from therapists' clinical team discussion will provide the audience with feedback key aspects of clinical care, and recommendations for next steps in program management of cancer patients living with a spinal cord injury. 

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the psychosocial implications of rehabilitation therapists working with patients with metastatic cancer in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, specifically a spinal cord injury unit.
• Identify themes regarding staff preparedness and comfort level and compare with current research in the field of oncology in inpatient rehabilitation.
• Examine the similarities and differences in the therapeutic treatment of persons with SCI with those with progressive metastatic disease.
• Discuss the impact of death and dying in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital and the emotional toll on staff when compared to working with patients with SCI.
