Body of Abstract: The wheelchair is one of the most enabling technologies a clinician can provide. However, without proper selection and setup, the positive impact on quality of life can be compromised. In this workshop, you will learn the evidence behind key wheelchair setup modifications. We will provide demonstration of making these adjustments on ultra-lightweight manual wheelchairs and provide an opportunity for you to practice if you have a chair available. We will be present virtually to provide remote feedback and answer questions as you’re making adjustments. Because wheelchair setup and wheelchair skills go hand-in-hand, we will follow discussion of adjustments with an explanation of the impact on wheelchair skills. Through videos we will provide guidance on how to progress the practice of wheelies and curbs and understand the impact of adjustments to improve clinician ability to teach these skills to patients and clients. If you are going to practice these skills during the virtual session we recommend you have a spotter available.
