Dr. Iaccarino is an Instructor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School and attending physician in the MGH for Children Youth Concussion program, the MGH/Red Sox Foundation Home Base program for veterans with mild traumatic brain injury, and the Harvard NFL Player Health Study and pursuing research in mild traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Iaccarino received her undergraduate degree and medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC where she received the Howard Hughes Scholarship for teaching and medical education. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia before moving to Boston to complete her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Residency Program.
While caring for patients with all severities of brain injuries, Dr. Iaccarino’s clinical interest is in sport concussion and blast related mild traumatic brain injury. Dr. Iaccarino’s current research interests are in novel treatments for concussion in particularly the role of exercise in treating prolonged concussion symptoms.
