Dr. Packel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Medical Humanities from the University of Delaware (1994), a Masters of Physical Therapy from Boston University (1996), and a PhD in Health Services with a specialization in Community Health Promotion and Education from Walden University (2013). Dr. Packel is licensed to practice physical therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She has 20 years of experience as a clinician where her focus has been on the care of those with cancer as well as those with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. She was previously the Coordinator of Cancer Rehabilitation for the Abramson Cancer Center. Dr. Packel contributes to professional practice through her work as manuscript reviewer, and as a pro bono consultant for OncoLink (web based resource for people with cancer). She has also authored book chapters on Laboratory Values, Pulmonary Pathophysiology, and Cancer Rehabilitation. Dr. Packel has an active scholarly agenda that focuses on cancer rehabilitation and improving physical activity.
