Yi-Po Chiu, PT, MHS, PhD, CEEAA, Director of Admissions/Associate Professor, has been a full-time DPT faculty since 2008 and is currently a faculty member of Marshall University School of Physical Therapy. Dr. Chiu received his PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences (2007) and an MHS (2001) in Physical Therapy both from the University of Florida, and a BS in Physical Therapy (1995) from National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, Taiwan. Since 1999 Dr. Chiu has been actively involved in the field of geriatrics/gerontology. He holds the Graduate Certification in Gerontology from the University of Florida (2007), the Certified Exercise Experts for Aging Adults certification from the American Physical Therapy Association Section on Geriatric (2011), and the Advanced Geriatrics Education Skills Certification from the West Virginia Geriatric Education Center (2012). In addition, he has been participating in studies that are related to older adults with neurological dysfunction, such as stroke and diabetes, and psychometric properties of balance/fall risk assessments.
