Marisa Perdomo is an assistant Professor at the University of Southern California. She is a national expert in the field of cancer survivorship and cancer-related lymphedema. She developed the outpatient cancer rehabilitation program at the USC Faculty Outpatient clinic and is responsible for mentoring clinicians involved in oncology rehabilitation. She has been a physical therapist practicing since 1983, with specific training in both orthopedics and oncology. She developed the oncology educational content for the DPT program at the University of Southern California and is a line item writer for the Specialty Academy Content Expert for Oncology Specialization She developed the Certification of Peripheral Edema educational program for the Academy of Oncologic Physical Therapy of the American Physical Therapy Association. She served on the EDGE Breast Cancer Assessment group, the EDGE Lymphedema Assessment group, and most recently, the guideline development group for clinical practice guidelines for diagnosing secondary upper quadrant lymphedema. Presently, she serves on the Academy of Oncologic Physical Therapy clinical practice guideline development group for upper quadrant lymphedema interventions.
