Dr. Jones is vice president for research and technology at the Shepherd Center (www.shepherd.org) and founding director of the Center’s Virginia C. Crawford Research Institute. He also serves as principal investigator of the LiveWell Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center (www.livewell.rerc), the RERC on ICT Access for Mobile Rehabilitation (mRhab RERC), the App Factory to Support Health and Function of People with Disabilities (DRRP), and a field-initiated research project, Comparing Transition Support Interventions for Family Caregivers of Patients with Acquired Brain Injuries.
Dr. Jones received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Jacksonville State University, and his master’s and doctorate from the University of Kansas in behavioral psychology. His research focus is design and management of programs and services that promote independent living of people with disabilities. His research contributions include over 100 peer-reviewed publications. He has been a surveyor for CARF International since 1996. Dr. Jones is also a Fellow of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) and has served on the ACRM Governing Board since 2011.
