Dr. Stewart is an Assistant Professor of Surgery within the University of Washington Division of Trauma, Burn and Critical Care. He also works at the UW Medicine Regional Burn Center and supports the NIDILRR Northwest Regional Burn Model System. His research foci include epidemiology and prevention of injury, factors influencing recovery after burn injury, and health equity. He is also engaged with developing measures for long-term outcomes after burn injury, particularly for people who practice subsistence activities, lack a formal employer, or are otherwise marginalized within their society.
