Kristin Nuckols, MOT, OTR, is the sole occupational therapist at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University, aiding engineers to design and test soft robotic devices for the upper extremity in neurologic populations. Additionally, she is a Research Occupational Therapist for Massachusetts General Hospital - Institute of Health Professions, assisting with efforts to investigate the effects of robot-assisted therapy in the stroke population.
She graduated from James Madison University with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2007. She spent the first 10 years of her career specializing in neurologic inpatient rehabilitation at Sheltering Arms Physical Rehabilitation Centers in Richmond, VA and outpatient care at Steps for Recovery in Cary, NC. She has a passion for the integration of technology-based treatment practice, performing outcomes research and disseminating evidence on the benefits of the correct utilization of this treatment paradigm throughout her career.
