Heather Taylor, Ph.D. is the Director for Spinal Cord Injury and Disability Research (SCIDR), and Project Director for the Texas Model Spinal Cord Injury System (TMSCIS) at TIRR Memorial Hermann and Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston Texas. She is the current Chair for the SCIMS and past Chair ACRM’s Special Interest Group (SIG) Women’s Health Task Force focusing on the unique concerns of women’s health after SCI. Dr. Taylor has focused her research on health, motor recovery and learning, and psychosocial functioning with a strong emphasis on women and children with SCI. Dr. Taylor is currently PI and Project Director on the Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems including participating in the site project evaluating a psychological wellness intervention for women with SCI.
