Dr. Nicole Diaz-Segarra received her medical degree(MD) from Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She is currently a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation resident physician at the Rutgers/New Jersey Medical School-Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation program. Dr. Diaz-Segarra is serving as the Administrate Chief Resident for the 2019-2020 academic year and will continue her training at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation as the Brain Injury Medicine Fellow for the 2020-2021 academic year. During her training, she has collaborated with the Kessler Foundation on multiple projects including the assessment of spatial neglect, implementation of Prism Adaptation Treatment, and its impact on rehabilitation outcomes in a practice based rehabilitation research network. Additional areas of research interest include the use of botulinum toxin for the management of post-traumatic headaches, the impact of sunken skin flap syndrome & cranioplasty on rehabilitation outcomes as well as the utility of functional magnetic resonance imaging to assess for sub-clinical consciousness after sustaining a severe brain injury.
