Larry Cervelli, OT, FACRM
Mr. Cervelli has been active in medical rehabilitation for more than 45 years. As an occupational therapist in a large trauma center, he directly cared for catastrophically injured patients with brain and spinal cord injuries, severe burns, and multiple trauma. Within both the public and private sectors, Mr. Cervelli has developed and directed operations of acute and post-acute rehabilitation centers primarily serving individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI) and their families. He assisted with writing the grant proposal that led to the designation of one of the first two federally funded brain injury rehabilitation centers for studying recovery from ABI. Mr. Cervelli has participated in the development of national standards of patient care, development of professional training curricula, and advocacy of necessary legislation regarding care of catastrophically disabled people and their families. He worked for many years managing the care of catastrophically injured workers. Since retirement he has organized and administratively coordinated the work of a Veteran advocacy group to improve the care of veterans and their families in the civilian community. He also provides administrative support to a community support group for people with TBI and their families.
