Dr. McCormick is one of four individuals in Canada who has a dual specialty in Pediatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine. She is the Chief of the Division of Developmental Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and a consultant at The Ottawa Rehabilitation Center where she has been in practice for over 20 years.
Dr. McCormick is an Associate Professor with the University of Ottawa, cross appointed in the Departments of Pediatrics and Medicine. She has performed as an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in the Specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her passion for Pediatric Rehabilitation has led her to develop and administer one of the first Canadian fellowship programs in this sub-specialty.
Dr. McCormick is actively engaged in clinical research with special interests in robotic technology for individuals with physical disabilities, transition to adult care, spasticity management, and connecting patients with research through involvement with databases such as the Canadian Neuromuscular Disease Registry (CNDR) and The Cerebral Palsy Integrated Neuroscience Network (CP-NET). Dr. McCormick serves on the Care Pathway Committee of The American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) and an executive on the CP-NET committee where she is a technology lead.
