Christina M. del Toro, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor in Speech-Language Pathology at Midwestern University. Dr. del Toro teaches courses on aphasia, research methods, and evidence-based practice. She regularly guest lectures on topics related to adult neurogenic language disorders for programs in the College of Health Sciences. Her research currently has two aims: 1) Investigating characteristics of nouns and verbs which facilitate word recall in persons with aphasia, and 2) developing effective word production treatments. Dr. Del Toro is co-chair of the Aphasia and Other Communication Disorders Task Force of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine Stroke ISIG Committee. She is an active member of the Illinois Speech-Language Hearing Association, Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders, and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
