Amy Rosenbaum, Ph.D., FACRM received her doctorate in clinical and school psychology from Hofstra University, and has specialized in the field of brain injury rehabilitation for 20 years. Currently, she is the Director of the Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program at Park Terrace Care Center, an inpatient brain injury rehabilitation facility in Queens, NY. Dr. Rosenbaum is responsible for directing interdisciplinary treatment planning, overseeing program planning and development, as well as all TBI-related staff education and training. She was integrally involved in creating the center’s cognitive rehabilitation, coma recovery and coma management programs, and remains responsible for the clinical oversight of these programs. Dr. Rosenbaum also serves as a TBI model systems investigator for the NY TBI Model System at Mt. Sinai. Her clinical and research interests include disorders of consciousness, post-traumatic confusional state, cognitive rehabilitation, evidence-based practice, neuropsychological assessment, and psychotherapy after brain injury. She has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and textbooks. She is managing co-editor and an author of ACRM’s 2nd Edition “Cognitive Rehabilitation Manual and Textbook: Translating Evidence-Based Recommendations into Practice. Dr. Rosenbaum also serves as the current Co-Chair of the ACRM BI-ISIG Cognitive Rehabilitation Task Force and ACRM Cognitive Rehabilitation Manual and Training Faculty, and Chair of the Public Awareness and Advocacy Workgroup of the Joint NIDRR and ACRM BI-ISIG Disorders of Consciousness Task Force. Her work has been presented at professional trainings and conferences both nationally and internationally.
