Megan Mitchell is a Human Factors Researcher on the High-RIsk Team at Cerner. She received her Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the joint program at New Jersey Institute of Technology/University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2011 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Kessler Foundation in 2013. Dr. Mitchell is currently the ACRM Programming Co-chair, Technology Networking Group Past Chair, and LaunchPad Task Force Chair. Dr. Mitchell's research interests focus upon biomechanics and rehabilitation engineering: specifically clinical interventions impacting bone and muscle health in immobilized populations. Dr. Mitchell's research has encompassed pediatrics and adults. Her experience brought her to collaborate on interdisciplinary teams within the clinical, research, and academic environments. Currently, her research has expanded into investigating the prevalence and severity of hazards and the effectiveness of mitigations within Electronic Health Record systems and data collection.
