A framework for understanding lateropulsion after stroke ("pusher syndrome") will serve as a basis for examining assessment tools and interventions within the inpatient rehabilitation setting.  Lesion side differences in stroke impairments will be presented in terms of developing a plan of care and predicting duration of rehabilitation.  

Learning Objectives:

• Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss the framework for relating brain lesions and clinical presentation of patients with stroke and lateropulsion.
• Devise an integrated examination which includes formal testing for lateropulsion as well as stroke assessments that will guide treatment planning.
• Upon completion, participant will be able to devise a treatment strategy to target major deficits of the patient with lateropulsion within the framework for relating lesion site and clinical presentation.
