Kelly Machnik earned her master's in occupational therapy in 2008. She practiced for ten years in mental health and has been teaching since 2011. Her research areas include occupational therapy in the criminal justice system and exploring occupational therapy's role in the continuum of mental health practice settings. She is currently in the process of earning a post-professional occupational therapy doctorate degree from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.
