I am currently completing a masters in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Dr. Julia Schmidt. This will allow me to develop skills and knowledge regarding traumatic brain injury (TBI), including concussions. I am, more specifically, interested in traumatic brain injury and how to improve quality of life and wellbeing for individuals with TBI, especially by focusing on the abilities they possess and by improving the rate and duration of recovery through rehabilitation.
I have completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto with a double major in Neuroscience and EEB and a minor in Psychology. I am particularly interested in concussions and how rehabilitation can provide an effective means to improve recovery. Since concussions are highly heterogenous, it is hard to predict recovery rate. Therefore, my research attempts to look at whether a return to physical or social activity influences recovery rate.
