Shirley Ryan AbilityLab
My clinical focus has been directed towards high intensity gait training with the goal of promoting independence, safety and efficiency in mobility in individuals in the neurological population. I work extensively with individuals with neurological diagnoses (brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury) both in the inpatient and outpatient settings at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and previously at Schwab Rehabilitation hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital. I have and continue to serve on various hospital committees aimed at improving patient quality of life, community reintegration, staff education, and patient safety. Since obtaining my doctorate, I have taken various continuing education courses regarding behavioral management in the brain injured patient, interdisciplinary spinal cord injury management, vestibular rehabilitation, gait training and dual tasking, movement system diagnosis, post stroke motor rehabilitation and hypoxic-ischemic brain injury.
