A. Personal Statement
My research focuses on psychosocial and behavioral outcomes of genetic testing for hereditary cancer syndromes in cancer survivors and their families, as well as the integration of genetic services into general oncology care. Specifically, my work centers on cancer survivors and families decision-making about genetic testing and receiving genetic test results, and the subsequent psychological and behavioral impact of those decisions, including the impact on quality of life and related factors. A cross-cutting theme of my research is the development and evaluation of novel, e-Health interventions for populations at risk for hereditary cancer and cancer survivors, including NCI-funded STTR grants to develop and evaluate internet- and game-based behavior change interventions for adolescents and young adults. In addition, I have led NCI-funded research to develop and evaluate novel sensor-based and mobile technology applications for behavioral assessment and intervention. As Director of the Assessment, Intervention and Measurement Shared Resource at MD Anderson, I oversee resources and expertise in qualitative and survey research, data management, energy balance research, and web and mobile technology applications.

1. .' My multidisciplinary collaborator team and I have developed and evaluated novel, e-Health interventions for populations at risk for hereditary cancers. This research has included the development and testing of mobile, sensor-based approaches for behavioral assessment and intervention; in particular, we have focused on clinically relevant outcomes to cancer survivors often during acute periods of care, including therapeutic adherence, dehydration prevention, physical activity and tobacco cessation.

CCSG Supplement - Pop Health Assessment in Catchment Areas
To conduct population representative online and mail-in surveys to ensure 1750 respondents in the State of Texas. We will conduct a cross-sectional multistage area probability design-based survey to collect data representative of the population within our catchment area, the State of Texas. Questionnaires will be designed with over-sampling of minority groups and key areas of exposure. 1a. Online survey of participants to ensure 1000 respondents. The survey will be conducted in collaboration with Qualtrics, a leading enterprise in this domain. 1b. Mail-in survey of participants to ensure 750 respondents. The mail-in survey will be conducted using our CCSG-funded core, PROSPR, Patient-Reported Outcomes, Survey and Population Research.
