Dr Patrick Kwong is a Research Fellow at the Rehabilitation Research Institute of Singapore (RRIS). He obtained his BSc in Physiotherapy (Honours, First Class) and an MSc in Manipulative Physiotherapy. Patrick has worked as an active physiotherapist in the public hospital and community sectors, gaining a solid applied clinical background before pursuing his Doctorate of Philosophy in Physiotherapy from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Patrick's PhD study investigated the effectiveness of sensory stimulation combined with exercise to improve the functional mobility of individuals with stroke.Patrick’s current primary research interest includes developing and validating qualitative/quantitative physical outcome measures for people with stroke so to translate best clinical practice to these populations.
