Dr. Hoenig is Professor of Medicine/Geriatrics at Duke University, Chief of the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service at the Durham VA Medical Center. Dr. Hoenig received a BS degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Puget Sound, an MD degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and a Masters of Public Health/Epidemiology from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Her clinical training included Internal Medicine Residency at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY as well as Geriatrics and Health Services Research Fellowships at UCLA. Dr. Hoenig is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has Certificates of Added Qualification in Geriatrics and Spinal Cord Injury. Dr. Hoenig’s research examines the effect of different ways to compensate for physical limitations and how to best provide rehabilitation services, with a focus on assistive technology and telerehabilitation. Dr. Hoenig was Section Editor for Archives of Physical Medicine from 2006-2012 and she has been Deputy Editor since 2013.
