Matthew completed a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Toronto. As an undergraduate summer research student, he studied fatigue and discomfort during functional electrical stimulation in the Rehabilitation Engineering Lab at Toronto Rehab Institute's Lyndhurst Centre. He is currently a MSc student with the University of Toronto’s Rehabilitation Science Institute and is working in the Spinal Cord Mobility Lab at Toronto Rehab Institute's Lyndhurst Centre. His research involves the use of functional electrical stimulation as a training intervention to improve reactive balance in people with incomplete spinal cord injuries.
