Dr. Rachel Proffitt is Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Missouri. She earned her OTD from Washington University School of Medicine and completed a T32 Postdoctoral Fellowship in the the Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California. Dr. Proffitt has over 10 years of experience investigating virtual reality-based and game-based applications for stroke rehabilitation. Her current work blends well-established OT interventions with technology to maximize the health and well-being of individuals post-stroke. Dr. Proffitt is the PI of an NIH R21 investigating a novel sensor to assess activity post-stroke in the natural home environment.
