Patricia C. Clark, PhD, RN, FAHA, FAAN - Dr. Clark is a Professor Emerita at Georgia State University and a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. Her program of research is about family caregivers of persons with chronic illness, specifically stroke and heart failure. She has a record of external funding and has served as principal or co-investigator on several large studies funded by the National Institutes of Health and other national organizations. She has co-mentors two faculty members with NIH Career Development awards and is currently Co-investigator of a study (Blanton, PI) testing an online intervention for family carepartners of stroke survivors. She is author or co-author of over 60 publications. Dr. Clark’s scholarship has been recognized through numerous awards such as primary or co-author for four articles awarded the Stroke Article of the Year award and one Clinical Article of the Year Award from the Council on Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing, American Heart Association. She also was named one of fifty distinguished alumni from University of Kentucky School of Nursing and in 2013 received the Meritorious Achievement Award from the American Heart Association. She has mentored numerous faculty and students and helped them become successful in writing and publishing manuscripts.
