In collaboration with Dr. McGregor and Dr. Nocera, he will be studying how exercise therapy improves both cognitive and motor functions in aging adults. He hopes to shed light on rehabilitative methods to treat individuals with brain disorders including stroke.
Courtney graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BA in Neuroscience and Honors in the College of Arts and Science in 2019. At the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, he studied the genetics of developmental language disorder in the Music Cognition Lab.
