Akhila Veerubhotla is a post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Mobility and Rehabilitation Engineering (CMRE) Research at Kessler Foundation and Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Rutgers – NJMS. She is a part of various projects aimed at improving the gait and balance of individuals with Stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury. She has a masters in Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from University of Pittsburgh. Her research utilizes her education in engineering and science along with her experience in customizing technology for individuals with mobility impairments to undertake and successfully deliver physical activity measurement tools for older adults and individuals with stroke, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injuruy.
