Suicide is the second-leading cause of death among youth ages 10-24. Access to firearms is a strong predictor of suicide completion. Faculty will discuss how to identify youth at risk for suicide and determine their firearm access. Evidence-based approaches to reduce or eliminate firearm access, including counseling and providing safe storage devices, will be discussed.
