My research interests and future plans
My group and I have invented a novel multi-color approach using fluorescent probes of HMRG and 2MeSiR 600 as fluorescent scaffolds that may enhance the diagnostic accuracy of surgical resection for glioblastoma. We have recently submitted the paper to “Frontiers in Oncology” about our previous research using HMRG based probes. We are still collecting data from additional tissues of glioma patients on a monthly basis at our university hospital for further paper submission.
My research interests are not only based on understanding of the fundamental aspects of brain tumors, but mainly focused on advancing basic scientific findings into improvements of conventional diagnostic strategy and treatment of patients with these cancers. I believe that translational research can make use of my experience as a neurosurgeon and is the research that can be returned to glioma patients after returning to Japan in the future.
