Joseph LoTurco, Ph.D. is Professor and Department Head of Physiology and Neurobiology at the University of Connecticut. His training is in Neurophysiology, Developmental Neurobiology, and Genetics, and his research program has focused on identifying molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate neocortical development, neurodevelopmental disorders, and brain tumorigenesis in animal models. He serves as the Editor in Chief of the Developmental Neuroscience, and course Instructor of Advanced Techniques in Molecular Neuroscience at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories. He is Principle Investigator of the NIH grant Pathophysiology of Somatic Mutations in the Developing Neocortex, and the NIH T34 Training Grant UConn MARC-USTAR.
