Vinay K. Puduvalli, MD is a Professor and Director of the Division of Neuro-Oncology at The Ohio state University Wexner Medical Center and Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he holds the Sanford/Rife Family Endowed Chair in Neuro- Oncology. After fellowship training in Neuro-Oncology at MD Anderson, he was recruited to a faculty position there in 1998 and served as director of the fellowship program and director of clinical research. He was recruited to The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2013 as the Director of the division of Neuro- Oncology and the Medical Director of the Neurological Malignancies service line in the James Cancer Hospital and of the Brain and Spine Tumor Center. In addition to clinical care of patients with primary and secondary brain tumors and neurological complication of cancer, his academic interests are strongly focused on patient oriented research utilizing preclinical, translational and clinical studies. His federally funded lab effort is focused on developing novel therapeutics against brain tumor and on mechanisms of glioma resistance to therapies. He has mentored undergraduates, graduate students and residents, postdoctoral and clinical fellows, and junior faculty over the past 2 decades. He is a member of the brain tumor committees of the Alliance and NRG Networks. He has served in various roles within the Society for Neurooncology including as the education day chair, co-chair of the Scientific Program, SNO historian, co-chair of the awards committee and chair of the SNO external relations committee.
