WVC 91st Annual Conference
Staff turnover is very disruptive at all levels and especially, with the current challenges, when it is an associate DVM. Genderational differences mean new doctors are looking for different things when ti comes to a practice. To help convince an associate that your practice isn't just providing them with a paycheck and a job but a long term career and relationship means knowing what they want. To learn what your future or current associate wants means asking and listening; and more importantly thinking differently and being flexible. What was an effective approach to hiring and retaining once is not necessarily the answer now. It is important to find the right person for your practice culture and once identified go out of your way to give them an environment that gives back to the practice AND gives them the comfort that encourages them to have a career at your practice.
