WVC 91st Annual Conference
Beta-glucans are polysaccharides found in the cell wall of plants, fungi, and bacteria. They have been of significant interest to the research and health communities for their ability to affect the immune response. Accordingly, Beta-glucans have been investigated for their effects on various preventative applications and disease states including the tumor microenvironment, gastrointestinal health, infection, among others. This talk will review what beta-glucans are, what is known about their biological function, and the current data concerning their use as supplements and therapeutics.
