Veterinarians, staff, and clients place a large emphasis on appetite as an important component in monitoring quality of life. However, there are different guidelines when it comes to managing hyporexia and anorexia in the hospice patient compared to a patient that is intended to recover from a disease process. Tips on how to enhance appetite for certain conditions will be emphasized. The importance of utilizing the correct terms of hyporexia and anorexia will also be discussed.
