WVC 91st Annual Conference
When the topic of ethics comes up in discussion with many veterinary professionals, their thoughts often turn immediately to large scale, society wide issues; animal welfare, humane treatment of farm animals, feral pet populations, etc. These issues, while important and worth the time spent in debate, rarely impact the day to day professional lives of veterinary staff. Many other smaller, but no less important, ethical decisions must be made on a daily basis in veterinary clinic. In this session our panel will discuss the basis on which ethical decisions are made and explore a number of day to day circumstances that occur in veterinary clinics and have significant ethical implications.
