Uveitis (inflammation within the eye) represents a significant blinding disease entity in veterinary ophthalmology. Early recognition and treatment are imperative, as the structural and functional abnormalities which accompany uveitis frequently result in permanent vision loss. Importantly, uveitis may be a clinical finding in systemic disease, which could ultimately compromise the patient's general health. Join me for a review of the clinical signs and treatment of uveitis.
