Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and sudden unexplained death in childhood (SUDC) remain unexplained despite autopsy and death scene investigation. SIDS and SUDC account for nearly 10% of all US mortality under 18 years. Faculty will present developments in neuropathology, genetics, and undiagnosed diseases associated with SIDS and SUDC; complex needs of families after the sudden, unexpected death of their child; and resources to support them.
