This session will review research on advertising aimed at children and examine the ethical implications of this advertising. Faculty will discuss how persuasive design (eg, gamified features, tokens/rewards, sharing on social media) interacts with children’s vulnerabilities. Faculty also will explore movements to regulate data usage, ethical design, and manipulation of children as well as implications for pediatricians.
