When faced with a diagnosis of an abusive fracture, some parents report that their child’s fracture is due to a rare medical condition. Many courtrooms uphold these claims even though there may be little medical evidence to support the diagnosis. This program will outline a comprehensive, multidisciplinary evaluation of infant/child fractures to help differentiate true bone disease from physical abuse.
