Lecture and cases will be used to discuss the management of the jaundiced newborn in the well-baby nursery, 80% of whom will be jaundiced in the first week. Faculty will discuss why and how to monitor and follow these infants in the nursery and the office, noninvasive measurements of bilirubin levels, kernicterus in high-resource countries, breastfeeding management and G6PD deficiency.
